Katherine is about 3 hours and 20 minutes drive from Darwin – simply jump onto the Stuart Highway and follow it south. The city is located at the juncture of the Stuart and Victoria Highways, so is fairly accessible from all directions.
If you don’t fancy the long road trip, it’s also possible to fly into the city’s regional airport (located in nearby Tindal). Flights departing from Darwin take around 45 minutes, whilst those departing Alice Springs take a little under 3 hours.
