Motel Accommodation in Lake Macquarie

Find Accommodation

Located on the coast of New South Wales, in between Newcastle and Gosford, is Lake Macquarie – Australia’s largest coastal salt-water lagoon. It covers 110 square kilometres and is connected to the Tasman Sea via a short channel.

The region is very popular amongst tourists, families and couples alike, due to its proximity to the coast and the fact it offers a sheltered swimming oasis. It’s also a popular stopover point for those travelling along the coast.

The attraction that draws the most visitors to accommodation in Lake Macquarie is the lake itself. There are a number of ways that the water can be enjoyed, from fishing and swimming through to jet boating and kayaking. There are also four beautiful beaches to choose from, stretching across 10km of coastline (each of which is patrolled for optimal safety).

The myriad other natural attractions are another reason that so many people choose to book budget motels in Lake Macquarie throughout the year. Checkout the nearby national parks, which are known for bushwalking, horse riding and four-wheel driving. The nearby mountains also offer plenty of stunning natural scenery and sights to be discovered.
