There is a wealth of attractions in the Singleton area that can be enjoyed during your stay at the Benjamin Singleton Motel. We have outlined just some of the popular things to do in the list below:

Wine Country

At only 20 minutes from the Pokolbin wine region, you cannot visit Singleton without also dropping into one or two cellar doors for a tasting. Popular vineyards include: De Bortoli Wines, Pepper Tree Wines, Tyrrell’s Wine, Tempus Two Cellar Door, Ridegeview Wines, Tintilla Estate Wines, Oakvale Winery, Calais Estate and Mount Pleasant Wines. The Wine & Food Festival and Hunter Valley Wine Show are also fantastic if you happen to be in town at the right time.

Local Produce

Besides delicious wines, the Singleton area is also known for an array of other tasty local produce. In particular, we recommend the Lovedale Smokehouse Gourmet Pantry, Cocoa Nib, Tinklers Wines & Family Farm (for fresh grapes, figs, peaches, avocados and more) and Binnorie Dairy. If wines aren’t your thing, head to Peter Drayton Wines & Ironbark Hill Brewhouse, Matilda Bay Brewhouse, Lovedale Brewery or Hunter Distillery to sample beer or spirits.

Heritage & Culture

If you want to immerse yourself in the history and culture of the Singleton region, you will be spoilt for choice. Browse the artworks on display at Lovedale Antiques Old Wares & Gallery, Butterflies Gallery or Wine Glass Gallery. Learn more about the region’s history by visiting Singleton Historical Society & Museum, Australian Army Infantry Museum or the Sacred Spaces Convent. Visit the Great North Road to see relics of Australia’s convict past.

Nature & Wildlife

Experience the great outdoors at it’s very best. There are plenty of natural attractions throughout the area, including: Yengo National Park (where you will find Aboriginal sacred sites and rock engravings), Lake St Clair (a popular spot for swimming, sailing and water skiing in summer), Mount Royal National Park, Wollemi National Park (the second largest national park in New South Wales), and Hunter Valley Gardens (which are set on 22 hectares).

Family Friendly

When travelling with the kids in tow, we understand that keeping them entertained will be your key concern. Fortunately, there are plenty of family friendly activities in the area – Hunter Valley Zoo is home to many native and exotic animal species (from white lions to dingoes), Hunter Valley Gardens Aqua Golf & Putt Putt offers fun for the whole family, and the Mortels Sheepskin Factory shows you how popular UGG boots are made.

Sports & Adventure

If you’re interested in more adventurous pursuits, you won’t be disappointed. This is the perfect destination to experience hot air ballooning – you will float over the beautiful Hunter Valley with miles of vineyards below you. You could keep to the ground on a horseback riding tour or you could explore the amazing reason on the back of a bicycle. There are also a number of golf courses in the area to enjoy, such as The Vintage Golf Club and Hunter Valley Golf.
