Budget Motels – Dunolly Golden Triangle Motel – Dunolly

1846 Maryborough-Dunolly Road

Dunolly

VIC 3472

Dunolly Golden Triangle Motel a member of the Budget Motel Chain which means our standards are to provide clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation to our guests. Ken and Robin purchased Dunolly Golden Triangle Motel Dunolly in 2016 and have refurbished most the rooms with upgraded TV’s, new beds and great quality bed linen.

If you are prospecting for gold, we love talking about the stories from our area and are always happy to assist in where to start and good places to try.

During the gold rush era of the 1850s and ’60s, Dunolly and the surrounding district turned up more gold nuggets than any other region in Australia and became known as the ‘Golden Triangle’. The largest gold nugget in the world, the 69 kilogram ‘Welcome Stranger’, was found in nearby Moliagul. See a replica of the famous nugget at the Goldfields Historical and Arts Museum. Get on your bike and ride the Dunolly Cycle Tracks, a series of signed forest roads and tracks of varying length between 14 and 47 kilometres. As well as Dunolly, routes pass through the old goldrush towns of Tarnagulla, Bealiba, Waanyarra, Betley and Goldsborough.

As part of the Budget Motel Chain, Dunolly Golden Triangle Motel in Dunolly will always offer you the best affordable rates when you book on www.budgetmotels.com.au!

In the 21st century, it’s still worthwhile pulling over for a break. The local pub has a great atmosphere, country to its boots. The architecture is great. The town, approximately 50 kilometres south of Gladstone, is quite well known these days for its cattle and timber industries. If you’re in town on the right day and at the right time, you may even get to see the local woodsmith at work.

Every soldier starts their career at Kapooka, Wagga Wagga the ‘home of the soldier’. It’s the place where recruits attend to transform into a soldier with the Australian Army.

Wagga Wagga Art Gallery’s National Art Glass Collection is the most comprehensive public collection of Australian studio glass. It reflects diversity in style, subject and technique in contemporary practice as a continuous record of the glass community’s achievements and evolution from the 1970s to the present. The significance of the Collection was acknowledged in 1992 when it was officially designated the National Art Glass Collection.

The use of glass as a medium for artistic expression enjoyed a major revival in the United States in the 1960’s. At this time technical developments made it possible for individual artists to work in private studios and freed them from the factory model of production. This gave rise to the term ‘studio glass’ and the artistic phenomenon known as the ‘studio glass movement’. This movement emerged in Australia in the early 1970s.
