Budget Motels – Dunolly Golden Triangle Motel – Dunolly

1846 Maryborough-Dunolly Road

Dunolly

VIC 3472

Dunolly Golden Triangle Motel a member of the Budget Motel Chain which means our standards are to provide clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation to our guests. Ken and Robin purchased Dunolly Golden Triangle Motel Dunolly in 2016 and have refurbished most the rooms with upgraded TV’s, new beds and great quality bed linen.

If you are prospecting for gold, we love talking about the stories from our area and are always happy to assist in where to start and good places to try.

During the gold rush era of the 1850s and ’60s, Dunolly and the surrounding district turned up more gold nuggets than any other region in Australia and became known as the ‘Golden Triangle’. The largest gold nugget in the world, the 69 kilogram ‘Welcome Stranger’, was found in nearby Moliagul. See a replica of the famous nugget at the Goldfields Historical and Arts Museum. Get on your bike and ride the Dunolly Cycle Tracks, a series of signed forest roads and tracks of varying length between 14 and 47 kilometres. As well as Dunolly, routes pass through the old goldrush towns of Tarnagulla, Bealiba, Waanyarra, Betley and Goldsborough.

As part of the Budget Motel Chain, Dunolly Golden Triangle Motel in Dunolly will always offer you the best affordable rates when you book on www.budgetmotels.com.au!

In the 21st century, it’s still worthwhile pulling over for a break. The local pub has a great atmosphere, country to its boots. The architecture is great. The town, approximately 50 kilometres south of Gladstone, is quite well known these days for its cattle and timber industries. If you’re in town on the right day and at the right time, you may even get to see the local woodsmith at work.

Budget Motels – Mount Wycheproof Motor Inn – Wycheproof

360 Broadway

Wycheproof

VIC 3527

Just 10 minutes’ walk from hiking at Mount Wycheproof, the Mount Wycheproof Motor Inn features air-conditioned rooms with a flat-screen TV and a refrigerator. It is located exactly halfway between Melbourne and Mildura. Free Wi-Fi is provided. As a member of the Budget Motel Chain it means the standards of the Mount Wycheproof Motor Inn are to provide clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation to our guests at an affordable price.

The historical village of Wycheproof is the only town in Australia where freight trains still travel down the main street. Mount Wycheproof Motor Inn is 5 minutes’ walk from the Coin Art Gallery and Willandra Museum. All rooms are located on the ground floor and offer tea/coffee making supplies, ironing facilities and electric blankets. Each room includes a private bathroom with a hairdryer and free toiletries.

Wycheproof is an unusual town with a very wide main street – known to the locals as Broadway – and a huge grain silo. Mount Wycheproof, at 43 m above the surrounding flat countryside, is said to be the smallest registered mountain in the Australia. It has pleasant views over the town and the surrounding plains.

From 1978-1988 the King of the Mountain race saw men carrying 70-kg bags of wheat racing each other up the hill. There are walking tracks around the mountain and it is sometimes possible to see emus and kangaroos.  Mt Wycheproof is geologically known as a ‘metamorphic boss’ or a granite eruption. These unique granite outcrops feature a very distinctive botanical composition, quite different to that of the open country. The lightwood wattle, acacia implexa, is particularly impressive in spring.

As part of the Budget Motel Chain, the Mount Wycheproof Motor Inn in Victoria will always offer you the best affordable accommodation rates when you book on www.budgetmotels.com.au!
